A Little Dragon, a Mended Moon, and a Very Excited Author
By George Harrison
Today was a rather special day: my first published book arrived in print! The print quality is absolutely phenomenal and the picture I have uploaded does not do it any justice :)
Holding a copy of The Little Dragon Who Mended the Moon in my hands for the first time was a wonderful feeling. After seeing it on a screen and spending so much time thinking about its words, pictures and pages, here it was: a real book, ready to be opened and enjoyed.
And yes, I am extremely excited!
There is something magical about a printed children’s book. The cover invites you into another world, and each turn of the page brings something new to discover. Knowing that a book with my name on it could become part of a child’s bedtime routine, a quiet afternoon or a favourite reading corner makes this milestone especially lovely.
Children’s books have room for extraordinary things: little dragons, impossible adventures and even a moon that needs mending. That freedom is one of the reasons I love creating them. A story can begin with a small idea and grow into a whole world for a young reader to explore.
I hope The Little Dragon Who Mended the Moon will bring children and the grown-ups reading alongside them some of the happiness I felt when my copy arrived today. The thought of someone opening it for the first time, looking closely at the illustrations and wondering what happens next is a very exciting one.
For now, I am enjoying this moment. I suspect I shall be picking the book up and flicking through it rather more often than is strictly necessary!
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me and taken an interest in my books. I am delighted to be able to share this first printed adventure with you, and I look forward to sharing many more.
