A Little Halloween Magic: The Witch and the Silver Slippers
By George Harrison
The pumpkins are glowing, the leaves are turning gold, and the evenings are drawing in. What better excuse to curl up together and discover a little storybook magic?
This Halloween, I’m delighted to introduce you to my children’s book, The Witch and the Silver Slippers. If you’re putting together a seasonal reading basket or looking for something to enjoy with your little ones during half-term, I would love you to take a look.
There is something wonderfully theatrical about this time of year. Pointed hats, sparkling costumes and the rustle of autumn leaves invite children to imagine extraordinary things hiding just around the corner. A storybook is a lovely way to carry that sense of wonder into a quiet afternoon or a cosy bedtime.
One of my greatest pleasures is creating books that families can share. Reading together makes room for questions, funny voices and those lovely moments when a child pauses to study a picture or wonders aloud what might happen next.
So, once the pumpkins are carved and the costumes are put away, why not make time for one more Halloween treat: a book and a little imagination?
